Obviously, the health of the planet was the impetus for the creation of Olson’s eco-friendly home, but she

also intends to make a statement. She wants to set an example for people who may have considered more environmentally responsible lifestyles but were put off by the stereotypical imagery often associated with most things green.

 

"I hope to promote this home as much as I can. I want to scream it from the hilltops. I want people to

come and see it," Olson said sincerely. "I want them to see that something like this can be done and not look, as I sometimes say, like Birkenstock shoes. Honestly, that is the association this kind of thing has always had, but it doesn’t have to. It’s beautiful."
